We
are a growing Jewish community of over 275 families. Our Temple
was founded in 1891 and has remained a vital force in the Asheville
area community since that time.
We
pride ourselves on our Religious School, which starts with pre-Kindergarten
and continues through Confirmation. Beth HaTephila also offers
Adult Education, Sisterhood, Brotherhood, Outreach (serving interfaith
marriages), Hebrew classes and other special programs such as
Social Justice and interfaith events. Warm and inspiring Shabbat
services are held each Friday evening at 7:30 p.m.. On the second
Shabbat of each month we hold a "Shabbat Seder," which
is a family oriented community dinner preceding the Shabbat services.
Visitors
are always warmly welcomed. Please come and join us for services
and refreshments so that we may have the opportunity to greet you
personally.
Our
dues structure is on a voluntary fair-share basis. We provide the
guidelines and rely on our members to set their financial commitment.
You
are invited to contact us if you would like further information
or membership details. We would be happy to add you to the mailing
list for the "Menorah," our monthly bulletin. Please
provide the information below so that we may supply you with the
information you request.
