"Back to the Future"

These wonderful photos from the 1959 religous school groundbreaking show Rabbi Unger and other temple leaders wielding the ceremonial spades, with proud and excited young families in attendance. It is exciting to imagine the current generation of congregants in these same poses!

Imagine your child digging in with your family's garden spade - we will make it happen!

BREAKING GROUND FOR THE NEW RELIGIOUS SCHOOL BUILDING 1959

Ground breaking ceremonies January 25, 1959 for the new religious school building of Congregation Beth HaTephila. The New structure was to contain 11 classrooms, a library and a superintendant's office and would be connected to the Temple assembly hall (later renamed Unger Hall) by an enclosed hallway. Construction was expected to be completed in three months.
